Old Fashioned

The Old Fashioned is a cocktail made by muddling sugar with bitters, then adding alcohol, popularly whiskey but sometimes brandy and finally a twist of citrus rind. It is traditionally served in a short, round, tumbler-like glass, which is called an Old Fashioned glass, after the drink.

A lemon drop is a vodka-based cocktail that has a lemony, sweet and sour flavor, prepared using lemon juice, triple sec and simple syrup. It has been described as a variant of, or as “a take on”, the Vodka Martini. It is typically prepared and served straight up – chilled with ice and strained.  Add a teaspoon of peach syrup and voila!!

A cosmopolitan, or informally a cosmo, is a cocktail made with vodka, triple sec, cranberry juice, and freshly squeezed or sweetened lime juice.  It’s refreshing on a hot summer day.
